March Statistics and earnings

March Statistics and earnings

Well, i usually don’t plan to write about my monthly earnings (has some bloggers do, even if they aren’t worth the mention :p), and this is only because i want to show you something i can brag about. lol But this month, i decided to show the blog statistics and earnings of the previous month. I think this was the right time to show you some more info about this blog.

Probably, march was the worst month of this blog in terms of earnings, contrasting with February, which was by far the best month so far.

So let me show you how blog.dahh.net performed in terms of statistics:

This blog failed to reach by a thin number (800) the top 100,000 in alexa ranking at the end of march. But, right now the domain is ranked at 98,616! :D hehe. Of course, this blog is in a subdomain, and the alexa rank is influenced by the traffic going to the main domain: dahh.net which is a portuguese forum community. Nevertheless, this subdomain is responsible for 50% of the traffic source. :)

The peak of the RSS subscription was 36. This is an aspect it really needs to evolve. (want to help me?)

1832 absolute unique visitors

3645 page views

Average time on site: 2min and 07 secs.

Bounce Rate: 75% thanks to entrecard :(

Traffic Sources:

Search engines: 48.03% :) - i received a great deal of traffic from long tail keywords ;)

Referring sites: 39.81%

Direct Traffic: 12.16%

My major traffic comes from United States, followed by Portugal, Canada, India and United Kingdom

Now for the profit:

The results from the total from my 2 main sites.

Using third party publishers: $58.43

Reviews:$36.95

Affiliate marketing: 12,08 - Definitely, an aspect to improve!

Total: $107.46 revenue

Now for the losses:

Bought OIOpublisher: -$37 (this is a great buy! i recommend it!)

Bought BANS -$97 + taxes (haven’t got enough time to develop decent stores.)

Advertising in other sites such as Buckserv or Moneybites: - $37

Total losses: -$171

March total: -$63.54

This is the first month with losses. But i don’t see it in a negative point of view. Some investments were needed, and they were made thinking in the future. In order to produce better results some investments are required, don’t you agree?

Off course, the results for april will depend on my time (final exams month), the quality of visitors and your participation ;) and i count with your help ;)

Popularity: 85% [?]

Thanks for the mention ;) , your numbers are great so far (especially Alexa.com ranking!) You should consider getting your own domain name now… the sooner the better :)

If you could work on SEO of the new domain name before moving the blog over to the new domain, that would help you to get quick indexing of your new posts as well as start making money from the new domain blog immediately.

i got the money from adsense, cpxinteractive basically for the 3rd party publishers… the money from reviews came from PPP, and the affiliate marketing was from some campaigns i did using ppc ads.

Humm, I wouldn’t consider a negative a bad thing at this point. Your blog is still kicking off so to say, so I feel it will only go up from here. One thing I’d say, is did you feel that advertising on other blogs was worth it?

I know the ad on moneybites was cheap so the other must have been expensive. Which worked best for you?

actually, so far, the ad that is generating more clicks is the one it is running at your site. i had another blog ad that only generated 1…. but it is to early to say because i bought the ads on the last week of march.

I think you’ll enjoy BANS. Check out their forum - lots of good tips and resources there. Don’t worry about your losses at this point. Software tools are an investment. :)

Wow, someone is actually being honest about their affiliate earnings, that’s refreshing ;-)

I’ve heard good things about the BANS site. I also heard that the new eBay Affiliate program is go to mess it up. Although that may only be for people with existing sites - they’d have to change all their codes now. Anyway, please do a blog post about it, I’d love you hear your honest opinion.

Congrats on the profit!

Chuck

the BANS software has been updated to work with the new ebay affiliate program. I haven’t updated my stores yet due to the lack of time, but i don’t have many, and they are only testing stores.
I will blog again about BANS, but not in short term

congrats on the alexa rating. You should really think about getting your own domain though, it is really beneficial because then you are in charge of everything. I was surprised how cheap it was to go on my own.

The forum is in portuguese. i receive some good revenue from the forum but nothing big deal, but it earns me more than this blog.
With a membership number reaching almost 1000 members i have a good starting point to deliver ads via email. but i only do that from time to time and only if i think the product is of the interest of the members.
