Cpxinteractive - Final Considerations

If you don’t remember, a week ago, i started to analyse Cpxinteractive, and i decided it was time to show you some results.

But first, a short review about their site.

If you are interested in joining them, them you must know that after registration you will need to verify your site. They require that you create a file with your email address, so that they can visit that file and see that you are the owner of the site. Well, i guess they could have a more sophisticated way to validate a site, but i guess it works for them. The process usually is finished in a couple of days, and you will need to do this every time you want to add a new site.

After having your account is approved you can login to your dashboard. You will see that some nice graphics reports are available to you, showing how was your progress in the last days. Sadly, i can’t show you some images because my graphical reports are showing no data for the last days.

One thing that i don’t like (besides the low cpm earnings :evil) is that you dashboard is not that user friendly… when you have more than one site… but hey…. maybe im just dumb lol.

Now for the interesting part…. or not….

The results for the blog are somewhat poor, probably because this was a slow week for the blog in terms of traffic.

So, what i can say is that for 1000 impressions, cpxinteractive paid an eCPM of $0.12! That’s 12 cents!

I was really hopping that the earnings would be better because the main source of traffic of this blog comes from USA.

So, first obvious conclusion: It is worth it for high traffic sites only.

Now let’s see my overall results.

Besides this blog, i have been using CPXinteractive ads on another site, with better results but still, poor in a global point of view.

So far, my sites have delivered a total of 84,858 impressions, generating 1,341 and 23 conversions generating me a total of $31.60 with an eCPM of 0.37. Nothing big deal….

Take note that the 23 conversions contributed for the majority of the earnings. I had conversions that paid $5.

The eCPM by country of origin seems to vary. I had eCPM of 0.40 from spain, 0.17 and 0.35 from USA, and so on. don’t know how they calculate the value of each visitor.

So final thoughts? i will continue to use cpxinteractive ads on this blog for a while longer, or until a valid solution appears. But i will definitely continue to use these ads on my other site. The volume of traffic compensates the low eCPM, and from time to time a click generates a conversion :)

Want to try them yourself? Go to Cpxinteractive site.

Btw, do you know some better paying sites that deliver cpm ads?

Online Commercial Intent

This weekend i read a post from Custodio, that i have found very useful. The post is in portuguese, so i have decided to adapt the text to english (hope you don’t mind custodio :p)

Well, probably, the majority of you have used adwords, or similar ones, to try and sell something. If this is the case, then you don’t want to drive loads of traffic to your selling page. You want to drive traffic that actually will convert. You must remember, that using campaigns with adwords for example, you will pay per click, and high PPC with low conversion ratios, will sometimes, if not most of the times, ruin your campaign and make you loose money.

Well, for this, microsoft has a free tool called Online Commercial Intent, OCI for short. This tool analyses determined keywords that have high chances to convert into a sell. This way you can eliminate the keywords from adwords that don’t convert well, saving you a few bucks ;).

OCI has 2 options for you to use. You can choose to check web addresses or keywords only which is what we want to check in this case. Let’s pick some keywords from a mini-site that i have: Wii Finder.

Using OCI for the keyword “wii availability” i will get something like this:

As you can see, the keyword has a commercial intention of 0.91

What does this mean?

This tool, gave a value from 0 to 1. Being 0, the lowest intention (no chance of selling something), and 1, meaning that it has a high probability of selling. So, i can say that this keyword has a good chance of selling. This makes me want to invest sometime on some affiliate links :)

Now, what i have to do now, is run this tool to my keywords, and eliminate all the “non converting” keywords. With this i expect to save some bucks. :)

Oh no! My Hard Drive is dead!!!

Well! it isn’t, and i hope it will stay in good condition for many years :), but we all must be aware that our hard drive can stop working any time, specially if it is some years old like mine is.

Some times we need some computer technical support to any problem we may find. Although, i can manage many of the potential problems that can happen to our PC, in the case of hard drive failure i would have to ask help from some companies that have data recovery services such as Fast Teks.

Although this company is more directed to small/medium business, they offer their services to residential users. Their services range from the already mentioned data recovery and backup, to troubleshoot and repair, and also a very useful software training service.

For more information visit Fast teks.

I have been loosing money this past weeks.

I have been loosing money this past weeks.

This is the time of the year where me and fellow bloggers don’t have time for almost nothing. College exams take a great deal of time from our life’s.

For me, the exams period was over a couple of weeks ago, followed by a week of intense partying ;), but it is time for my 5 weeks internship on Neuro Surgery. This takes me at least 8 hours a day + hours to do works and research. Plus, i will be doing night shifts that will mess up my internal clock. lol
i will have some tough weeks… and time is money….

But with all this, some things are left behind, such as, posts that i wanted to write, but when i have time to write them there is no point on posting about them, they are no longer “new fruit”. Or jobs that are left behind, can potentially imply me loosing money. Not directly, but indirectly. In practical aspects It is money not earned, but in my point of view is like loosing money.

One of these jobs, is updating my not even near of being finished BANS stores. As you may already know, Ebay left Cj.com and decided to create their own program and gave a deadline for publishers to migrate (now extended until May, 31st).

But this is not the big problem. Remember my recent trouble with my hosting? well, the BANS stores databases were screwed, and after uploading the backup they were not working. So, who visits the stores will only find error messages… this is bad.

So, im sure you all have ways to face with these time issues, and probably you manage your time better than me. But what i have decided to do is establish objectives and prioritize, on a per day basis regarding blogging and marketing. For today i have planned to write this post + 1. Correct my BANS stores. And i have reserved 2 hours for this. That’s more than enough for what needs to be done.

What about you? how do you manage your time in these stressful times??

Stylish Design

Besides the Making money niches (most know as MMO blogs) there are other kinds of blogs we should read, one of these blogs is Stylish Design, which is a Web design blog.

Stylish design is a blog run by Robert and Andrei that focus on web designing and related stuff to that subject. You can find information about search engine optimization and web directories, but also, CSS and website templates.

With the recent Google page rank update, there are some articles that you might find useful, such as “Fighting for more page rank” or “You can never find out the true PageRank”.

These are just a few articles in this blog that I read, but I found more interesting posts, which I will let you to discover.
